It was a banner year for the premier information management conference. OpenText World 2024 took place in Las Vegas this week and offered more innovation, product announcements, training, learning, and networking than ever before. Here are some of the highlights:
Information is the heartbeat
“This is the new era of AI. It’s a new era of human potential,” said Mark J. Barrenechea, OpenText CEO & CTO, during his kick-off keynote on Tuesday. He added that, armed with information, we are the builders and designers of the next decade.
Information is the heartbeat of every organization, said Mark. And as the leading information management company, OpenText is building an exciting future for customers with our next-generation Business Clouds, Business AI, and autonomous cloud platform.
“OpenText makes multi-cloud work. OpenText is focused at the application, infrastructure, supply chain, and security level and we have purposely designed our OpenText cloud platform for information management. It’s global, trusted, modern machine-based security,” Mark said.
Mark invited to the stage Alok Daga, CIO of corporate and commercial banking with BMO, to talk about the fast pace of innovation in industries such as financial services. And he also spoke with tennis great and featured guest Venus Williams about leadership on and off the court.
Women in tech
The Women in Tech reception took place Tuesday evening and hosted an incredible panel moderated by Shannon Bell, OpenText CIO & CDO. Recalling Mark J. Barrenechea and Venus Williams’s conversation from the keynote, OpenText Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Sandy Ono reflected, “Pressure is a privilege, and it is a privilege to be a woman in tech.” The panel discussed what it means to be women who inspire, educate, mentor, and advocate for other women.
What’s new and what’s next
During the Wednesday technology keynote Muhi S. Majzoub, executive vice president and chief product officer of OpenText, talked about the latest product innovations and the features that are part of all of them, like security.
“Security is at the heart of what we do and in every one of our products,” Muhi said.
OpenText trusts OpenText
Also on Wednesday Shannon Bell took the stage to give a CIO perspective on how OpenText software will save OpenText $1 billion over the next ten years. “OpenText trusts OpenText… we’re incredibly proud of the fact that we use our own technology,” she said.
