The Yankton County Construction Bond was an $8,000,000 bond issue brought before the citizens of Yankton County. In 2005 the Yankton County Commission adopted a "Resolutionof Necessity" declaring that general obligation bonds were required to fund the construction of improvements to the Yankton County Courthouse and Safety Center.

This bond issue was one of about 40 issued in the state in 2006, and the only one that was put out to competitive bid.[1]
