Vivian Kennedy Livingood was a 2016 Democratic candidate for District 21 of the West Virginia House of Delegates.[1]
Livingood issued the following statement regarding her bid for office: "West Virginia, in particular the Southern Coal Fields, is suffering. I want to direct attention to the fact our leadership has failed to bring in infrastructure and replacement industry to fill the void of coal jobs lost. We should have never been allowed to find ourselves in this position. I hope to push for changes in our future's outlook so our children and grandchildren to not have to move out of state."[2]
Biography
Livingood was inaugurated as Mayor of the Town of Gilbert in 2008. Prior to that she served from 1988-2008 on the Mingo County Democratic Executive Committee. She graduated from Gilbert High School in 1975 and attended Southern Community College. Livingood worked as an accountant and in human resources from Mingo County Schools from 1983-2006.[2]
