|I am a lifelong resident of Jackson County and graduate of Ripley High School. I pursued higher education at Fairmont State University and obtained a BA in Political Science and a BA in National Security and Intelligence. While in college and after, I have worked as a public servant. I worked for Senator Shelley Moore Capito as a Policy Intern in Washington D.C. and learned how to write legislation. Upon graduation, I worked for the WV Division of Highways and have gained a wealth of knowledge on how to actually get our roads fixed.
- Fixing our Roads After working for the Division of Highways, I gained a wealth of knowledge in what works and what does not work when it comes to our roads. With my plan, our roads will get better and I saw this with confidence because one truly cannot grasp how to get things done about roads until you've "been in the belly of the beast."
- Expanding Broadband West Virginia lacks good high quality internet and in the modern era, internet connection is essential. I have done extensive work on broadband policy and will continue to help West Virginians close the internet connection gap.
- Eliminating the Income Tax When people have more independence with their money, they are better off overall. By eliminating the income tax, people have more money in their pocket and more businesses will want to come to West Virginia, bringing many jobs.
My all around experience with working in government allows me to get to work on day one and maximizes my ability to help more people.
The legacy I want to leave is that people will know that I served in government to truly help the people. All politicians run on wanting to help people, but that message sometimes gets construed and less and less people get their voices heard by their representative. I want to break this trend and make sure people know I will be a representative who wants to hear from them.
Having any form of experience in government is going to help a legislator. It allows them to understand the confines of policy and it allows them to gain knowledge in areas the government maintains like with roads or education.
