I am a husband, father, son, grandfather, farmer and concerned citizen who is tired of the runaway spending and repression of rights of the citizens of PA and America.

  • Hold the State Senate accountable for their votes and the spending that results form those votes.
  • I will fight each and every day to Make Pennsylvania Free Again
  • No one knows better how to live your life than you do. Not a governor, Lt. Governor, Member of the General Assembly or any Bureaucrat in Harrisburg!

Lowering YOUR taxes at every opportunity. Defending and EXPANDING your rights and liberty.

The office of Lieutenant Governor has very little 'real' power. While presiding over the State Senate, I would be able to steer, or recommend courses of action that would prevent runaway spending, taxation and rights violations that our current legislators seem to enjoy so much. The position also chairs the Pardon Board, which would allow me to push for full rights restoration for persons convicted of non-violent drug crimes.

I look up to my father and father in law (RIP) the most. They both taught me more about how to be a good husband and father than either of them realized. If I could be half the father and grandfather that they were, I would be a successful man.

Several:

- Economics In One Lesson - Henry Hazlitt
- An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations - Adam Smith
- Democracy in America - Alexis de Tocqueville

Understanding of the rights of the citizens.
Honesty.
Fidelity to liberty and freedom.

My ability to work with people with whom I may disagree, even passionately. My ability to rapidly adjust to ever changing situations and circumstances. My unending allegiance to the rights of the people.

Faithfully executing the promise of fighting for the rights of the citizens. Taking that mindset and belief into each and every decision that is made.

I would hope to inspire others who view this as a public service job to step up, serve and then go back to their real lives to live under the laws they have helped craft.

I remember being about 5 or 6, and sitting in my grandparents living room when they broke into the regular programming to announce that Ronald Reagan had been shot.

My first job was with a local farmer cutting, bailing and stacking hay. I was 12 years old and needed money to pay for Boy Scout Summer Camp. I had that job for 2 summers, until I was old enough to get a 'real' job in a local restaurant.

Presently, Pure Dynamite - Tom Billington (the former wrestler Dynamite Kid)

Probably something from "Weird" Al.

Constantly fighting against ever changing regulations on small farmers and small scale food producers.

President of the State Senate and Charing the Pardon Board.

The Lt. Governor has the authority to work on administration projects. A freedom I would use to increase literacy of the PA Constitution to our students, as well as all residents of the state. You can't fully appreciate your rights and the limitations of the state if you don't know them.

Absolutely not. Elected offices were never intended to be careers. This is public service and we are public servants. The current legislators in Harrisburg and Washington have clearly either forgotten that or are willfully ignoring it. I would remind them of that every single day!

A thick skin and an undying loyalty to liberty. Being honest and open is another.

What are the 9 scariest words in the English language?

"I'm from the government, and I'm here to help."

Campaign website

McMaster's campaign website stated the following:

Lowering the Property Tax for Homeowners

I would work with willing members of the PA General Assembly to find ways to reduce, on a path to the total elimination of the onerous and destructive property tax. The very first way that I see to do this is to reduce spending in the local school districts. We have seen over the last 2 years that it IS possible to find effective and productive ways to educate our next generation of students in ways that are both efficacious and effective for the students, while reducing costs to the local school systems. We can incentivize enrollment in ‘alternative’ schooling programs that focus on educating and serving the students and their families, while not paying the bloated salaries or egregiously overpriced ‘benefits’ to life-time bureaucrats and redundant administrators; giving parents and families more control over how and where their students are educated.

Supporting and Promoting Local, Small Businesses in Pennsylvania

Small businesses are both the backbone of any growing economy and the incubators for innovation. For far too long, legislation and regulations are written to protect the large, mega-companies at the cost of a strong and vibrant small business sector. I would push to have stifling legislation on small businesses reduced while making regulations appropriate to scale. There is no reason why a small, locally owned dairy should have to have the same infrastructure as an operation with 50,000 animals and their associated wastes, by products and structures. This would also dovetail into an emphasis on education every Pennsylvanian on producing as much of their own food as they are able. Every small reduction in the ‘food-dollar cost’ we can achieve, the stronger and more resilient every family can be.

Constitutional Carry in Pennsylvania

The Second Amendment is clear and concise. Additionally, Article I, Section 21 of the Pennsylvania State Constitution states: “The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.” These words are definitive. Every citizen of Pennsylvania has the right to self-defense. If a citizen chooses a firearm as the tool for that defense, the state has absolutely zero authority to deter or curtail that right.

Eliminating Civil Asset Forfeiture and Blanket Qualified Immunity.

While this, on the surface may seem to be ‘anti-police’ I assure you it is not. For too long, these 2 practices have been used and abused to strip rights and property from Pennsylvanians without due course of law. As Law Enforcement Officers, we as a free people should not feel that LEOs are acting above or outside the law in the duties. I seek to keep them accountable to both their oaths to protect and defend the Constitution as well as protecting the rights of citizens who have committed no crime, and should not be forced into a “guilty until proven innocent” judicial system.

Defend The Guard PA

Defend the Guard legislation would prohibit a state’s National Guard units from being deployed into active combat without a formal declaration of war by Congress, as provided by the U.S. Constitution. This is an extremely simple and easily supportable legislation. It would seek to hold our national policy makers to the same standard, the Constitution of the United States of America.

End the Prohibition on Recreational Marijuana Usage

The state has no moral authority to prohibit, mandate or restrict what any free citizen puts into their own body. This is a basic freedom that all humans enjoy and is the simplest most direct example of body autonomy.

End the Criminalization of Sex Work

Sex workers are using their most basic right of bodily autonomy to conduct voluntary, consensual transactions. Morality cannot and should not be subject to legislation. Decriminalizing sex work and recognizing the rights of these workers of to freely engage in consensual activities would bring these workers ‘out of the shadows’ and allow them to be protected from abuse or infringement of their rights, allow them access to better healthcare and allow a system to redress grievances.

Restoring the Rights of Released Prisoners

Once their debt to society is paid in full, and they are released, all basic civil and human rights should be restored. Once released, these people are either fully restored, first class citizens or they are not. The current system creates a de facto separate system for those released where they are punished for crimes far beyond the length of the sentence. This should be seen as a violation of the 8th Amendment.[2]

My name is Tim McMaster, and I am the Libertarian Candidate for Pennsylvania Senator from the 48th District. A district that has not had a real choice in representation this century.

I am NOT a career politician. I am a concerned citizen who wants to make a difference in my town, my county, my state and my nation. I will fight against all legislation that further restricts your liberty, digs deeper into your wallet or increases Harrisburg's control over your life, livelihood and family

This campaign isn't about me. It's about you. It's about freedom and liberty. And it's about making a real change to Harrisburg's crony politics.

Join me in trying to once again Make Pennsylvania Free Again!

  • I will oppose ANY legislation or legislative action that infringes upon the liberty and freedom of Pennsylvanians. I will will fight tooth and nail against any legislation that restricts the natural rights of Pennsylvanians.

  • I will work tirelessly to reduce the taxes that hard working Pennsylvanians pay.
  • I will work to decriminalize victimless crimes in Pennsylvania, as well as tirelessly work to expunge the records of those who have been convicted and/or incarcerated for a these offences.

On Day One, my goal will be to fully open Pennsylvania's economy with no governmental restrictions. I would encourage all businesses to voluntarily follow the CDC recommended guidelines for health and safety, but these guidelines would not be enforced under penalty of law. No government employee or legislator knows how to run your business.
I am passionate about preserving and expanding the rights of hard working Pennsylvanians, while eliminating government waste, abuse and scope.

An empathy for the plight of the working person. And, in my case, an extreme distaste for corruption, waste and abuse by elected legislators.

Once elected, it is often forgotten by the elected that they are a public SERVANT. It is service, and that fact should never be forgotten. You are there as a representative of the people, not a leader or official. A representative.

The very first distinct memory I have is of the shooting of Ronald Reagan. As an impressionable 6 year old, it left a major impact on me. The way that President Reagan handled the incident with dignity, humor and resolve was inspirational.

Either "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand or "You Can Farm" by Joel Salatin

No. I believe that having less experience in the 'status quo' of crony politics is a major benefit. I do not believe that being an elected representative should be a career.

I would like to in whatever committee would provide the best opportunity to help the people and with luck, make itself irrelevant by returning the power to the people!

The closest would be George Washington. Because he served his county, then returned to his real career, never returning to public office.
