Suzanne Faunce is a judge on the 37th Judicial District Court in Michigan. She was elected in 2014 for a partial term.[1] She ran for re-election in 2016.[2]
Biography
Faunce received her bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University and her J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She was an assistant prosecutor in Macomb County for 15 years. She was the chief of both the Senior Victims Unit and Mental Health Court.[3]

Michigan held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election occurred on August 2, 2016. The candidate filing deadline for incumbents was March 21, and the deadline for non-incumbents was April 19.[4] Incumbent Suzanne Faunce ran unopposed in the 37th District general election.[2]

Judges of the Michigan District Courts are each elected to six-year terms.[6] The elections for this court are nonpartisan contested elections. To serve on this court, a judge must be a qualified elector of the district, licensed to practice law in the state, under the age of 70, and have five years of experience practicing law.
