Steven Cymbrowitz (Democratic Party) was a member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 45. He assumed office in 2001. He left office on January 1, 2023.
Cymbrowitz (Democratic Party, Independence Party) ran for re-election to the New York State Assembly to represent District 45. He lost in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Cymbrowitz has served as chair of the Majority Program Committee and as secretary for the Assembly's Majority Conference in the New York State Assembly.
Biography
Cymbrowitz earned his B.A. from Long Island University Charles William Post Campus, his M.A. in social work from Adelphi University, and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.[1]
His professional experience includes working as director of housing and community development for Metropolitan New York, serving on the coordinating council on Jewish poverty, as an assistant commissioner for Division of Housing Production Finance, as an assistant commissioner for Division of Homeless Housing Development, as a deputy commissioner for Development at Housing Preservation and Development, as a director of intergovernmental relations for New York City's Housing Authority and as an executive director of North Brooklyn Development Corporation.[1]
