Two seats on the St. Joseph School District board were up for general election on April 8, 2014. Since incumbents Sarah Siemens and Sue Wagner did not file for re-election, both elected members are newcomers to the board. Kappy Hodges and Lori Prussman narrowly edged out Jeff Bird for the two at-large seats.

The St. Joseph School District is located in northwest Missouri in Buchanan County. The county seat of Buchanan County is St. Joseph. St. Joseph is home to 77,147 residents, according to the United States Census Bureau.[1] In the 2011-2012 school year, the St. Joseph School District was the 17th-largest school district in Missouri and served 11,721 students.[2]

The St. Joseph school board consists of seven members elected at-large to six-year terms. There was no primary election, and the general election was held on April 8, 2014 for two seats. Three were on the ballot in 2016.
