Campaign website

Fuller's campaign website stated the following:

AN AMERICA FIRST AGENDA

Love of country has become old-fashioned, and patriotism is mocked in our liberal society these days. The very strengths which made our country the greatest on earth are considered by some to be our biggest faults.

Here in West Virginia we know the meaning of rugged individualism and the value of self-reliance. We reject the false premise that our day is done, and our country will never be great again. We know that putting America first in our foreign policy, in job creation, in our military, and in every other decision made in Washington DC is the road back to greatness.

Unapologetically prioritizing our country and our people in every policy over special interests or foreign entities will result in a proud and strong country leading the world in every sphere.

As your congressman, I pledge to put America first and West Virginia first in every decision I am faced with and will promote America and West Virginia at every opportunity.

RISING COSTS AND INFLATION

Americans today are facing unprecedented rising costs and shortages, the reckless suppression of our own production of energy in favor of foreign interests, and the over-reliance on foreign goods in manufacturing.

Corrupt Washington politicians are enriching themselves through insider trading deals which harm America, favoring our foreign competitors, while the average American suffers the consequences. In a little over a year we have seen our once robust economy wrecked by irresponsible economic decisions driven by Leftist policies and self-interest.

“Green” movement decisions to shut down gas pipelines, stop oil drilling and exploration along with inept leadership, have driven up prices at the pump and for heating, devastating the budgets of hard-working Americans.

America is the richest country on earth in resources, labor talent and innovation. We have everything we need to reboot our economy except strong, decisive, and focused leadership. But the time to act is now, our country cannot afford to wait. As your Congressman, I pledge to fight tirelessly to restore and rebuild our economy. It’s time to put America First!

FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY

West Virginians are tired of seeing our tax dollars wasted by liberal spending sprees in DC. I pledge to hold the line against wasteful spending and demand accountability of those funds which are spent. It’s our money, not the government’s, and we have a right to know exactly what they’re doing with it. As your congressman, I pledge to work for transparency which is so often promised but not delivered.

JOBS

The proper role of government is to foster an environment conducive to healthy job growth. I believe our people have the potential to create all the jobs necessary for our country’s vigorous economic rebirth. Excessive regulation and taxation of business suppresses job growth and discourages investment. West Virginians and our country deserve the freedom to work and reap the rewards of that work. As your congressman, I pledge to work to remove governmental regulations and overreach and free our economy to once again be the greatest and most vigorous on Earth.

ENERGY INDEPENDENCE

Energy independence is good for America and great for West Virginia. Our coal, gas, and oil industries are vital for West Virginia’s economy and America’s national security. Protecting them and expanding them is my commitment. As your congressman, I pledge to fight this war on coal and natural gas pipelines. I will vigorously support energy independence for our country. West Virginia coal, natural gas, and oil will be front and center in achieving it!

SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS

As a veteran and retired police officer, I know the importance of our right to self-defense. The right to bear arms was wisely recognized by our founding fathers in our constitution. The assault on this right by the liberal agenda must be vigorously opposed.

I will work to preserve our 2nd Amendment rights and as your Congressman, I pledge to, uncompromisingly and without reservation, fully defend this right.

FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS

The 1st Amendment gives us the right of free speech and to redress the government with our grievances. It is vitally important to a robust and healthy democracy. We have seen a concerted effort to silence differing opinions by the left in recent years. The leftist agenda of vilifying anyone who has a conservative opinion must be opposed if we are to remain a free people. As your congressman, I will vigorously defend the 1st Amendment and the right of free speech.

BORDER SECURITY AND IMMIGRATION

Vast numbers of illegal immigrants are pouring through our borders, seemingly unchecked. Many are bringing with them illegal drugs, weapons, human trafficking victims, and the very real threat of terrorism. Law enforcement, Border Patrol officers, and ordinary citizens alike are threatened by this illegal activity. Much of the fentanyl ends up in West Virginia. Our own citizens have borne the brunt of this devastating opioid epidemic.

Resources that should be spent on our own citizens are being lavished upon the illegal immigrants flooding our country. West Virginians have had enough of this chaos and demand a resolution. Legal immigration provides a way to welcome people who want to come to this country to contribute to America, not just take. As your congressman I will work to ensure a secure border, a secure country, and a secure West Virginia.

A STRONG MILITARY

In the 21st Century we are experiencing threats to our country never imagined. This requires a robust, intelligent, and focused military response. Military readiness has never been more important than it is right now. Innovations in technology require a well-trained force, educated, well-supplied, and confident in their country’s support. West Virginia has a strong and proud tradition of military service and will continue this tradition into the future. Our sons and daughters deserve a military free of social experimentation and focused on the mission of defending our country. As your congressman I pledge to support a strong and well-equipped military.

VETERANS

West Virginia has a proud tradition of military service, and our veterans deserve the respect, honor, and benefits their sacrifice for our freedoms has justly earned them. As a veteran I understand the importance of those benefits, and I pledge to protect them for our brave men and women who have served and continue to serve.

SENIORS

Wasteful mismanagement in Washington, DC has threatened our Social Security and Medicare programs. Guarding the hard-earned benefits of senior West Virginians is a top priority for me. Social Security and Medicare benefits were earned by our hard-working people, and they deserve to be able to count on them.

As your Congressman, I pledge to prioritize protecting these programs and remove the uncertainty surrounding them caused by liberal mismanagement in Washington, DC. West Virginia seniors will have the peace of mind concerning their benefits and security for the future which they deserve.

PROTECTING LIFE

Every human being has the right to live, and that fundamental right is protected in our constitution. Children are our greatest and most precious resource. West Virginians cherish life and recognize the value of protecting the lives of all West Virginians, including our most vulnerable, the unborn. As your congressman, I pledge to fully defend the right of the unborn to live.

EDUCATION

Our children are our future, and their education should be a top priority. A well-educated workforce is vital to attracting new industry and business to West Virginia. Our schools should not be laboratories of social experimentation on our children. Liberal agendas such as CRT and socialism have no place in West Virginia schools. While other countries emphasize science, math, technology, and engineering to ensure their competitiveness in the 21st century, the United States has fallen behind.

As your congressman I pledge to help rebuild traditional educational values in our education system and ensure our tax dollars are truly going for the education of our children.

LAW AND ORDER

Every day, millions of law enforcement men and women willingly risk their personal safety to protect and serve their fellow citizens. It is incumbent on all West Virginians and Americans to fully fund and equip these brave officers and treat them with the respect and honor due them.

We see examples daily of cities and states which have embraced the failed policies of the leftist anti-police agenda and are experiencing soaring crime rates and fleeing businesses. Thankfully, West Virginians have always respected and honored our law enforcement officers, and I pledge, as your congressman and a former police officer, to take those West Virginia values to Washington DC and fully support our Law Enforcement agencies.[2]

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in West Virginia

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
