This measure sought to increase the current school levy by a rate of $1.46 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further twenty years in order to continue to help pay for education programs for students with disabilities.[2]
Text of Measure
The question on the ballot:
| Shall the 1.9417 mills limitation ($1.9417 on each $1,000.00 of taxable valuation) on the annual property tax previously approved by the electors of Saginaw Intermediate School District, Michigan, for the education of students with a disability be increased by 1.4644 mills ($1.4644 on each $1,000.00 of taxable valuation), for a period of 20 years, 2011 to 2030, inclusive; the estimate of the revenue the intermediate school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2011 is approximately $7,247,800.00 from local property taxes authorized herein?[3] |
