Philip Young (Democratic Party) was a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing District 120. He assumed office on March 5, 2018. He left office on January 4, 2023.

Young (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Connecticut House of Representatives to represent District 120. He lost in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Biography

Phil Young was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and, as of September 2019, lived in Stratford, Connecticut. Phil's career experience includes working as a chef. He was also a director of the Storrs-based CT Public Interest Research Group and the Connecticut Citizen’s Action Group. He served as majority leader on the Stratford Town Council.[1]

2018 special election

A special election for the position of Connecticut House of Representatives District 120 was held on February 27, 2018.[2] The Democratic and Republican town committees nominated their chosen candidates.[3] Candidates could also get on the ballot by submitting petitions by January 24, 2018.[4]

The seat became vacant due to the resignation of Laura Hoydick (R), who left office after she was sworn into office as mayor of Stratford.[5]

The Democratic Town Committee nominated Philip Young to run in the race, and the Republican Town Committee nominated Bill Cabral.[3][6] Young won the election.[7]
