Patricia Anne Williams was a judge for the New York City Criminal Court of Bronx County, New York. She was first appointed to this position in February of 1986, and she was reappointed in 2000 and 2009. She also served as an acting supreme court justice, beginning in 1989.[1][2]

Education

Williams received her B.A. degree from Cornell University in 1965, her M.A. degree from Columbia University in 1967 and her J.D. degree from the Yale University School of Law in 1972.[1]

Career

Williams began her career in 1972 as an associate of the law firm of Willkie, Farr & Gallagher. She then worked as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York from 1977 until her judicial appointment in 1986. She also taught as an adjunct professor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) and the New York Law School. She was appointed to the criminal court in 1986 and to the supreme court in 1989.[1]
