Patricia A. Riley was a judge on the Indiana Court of Appeals, representing the Fourth District. She was appointed to the court by Democratic Governor Evan Bayh on January 1, 1994, and was retained by voters in 1996, 2006, and 2016.[1]
Riley retired from the court on August 30, 2024.[2]
Education
Riley received her bachelor's degree from Indiana University at Bloomington in 1971 and her J.D. from the Indiana University at Indianapolis Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1974.[1]
Career
Riley began her legal career as a deputy prosecutor for Marion County. She also worked as a public defender. She then worked as an attorney in private practice in Jasper County until 1990, when she was appointed to the Jasper County Superior Court. Riley served on this court until her appointment to the Indiana Court of Appeals in 1994.[1]
