Pamela Pepper is the chief judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. President Barack Obama nominated Pepper on May 1, 2014, to fill a vacancy on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.[1] Pepper received confirmation from the United States Senate on November 20, 2014, on a vote of 95-0.[2]
Pepper became the chief judge in 2019.
Prior to joining the federal court, she was the chief judge for the Eastern District of Wisconsin bankruptcy court.
Education
In 1986, Pepper received a B.S. degree from Northwestern University and in 1989, a J.D. from Cornell Law School.[3] She also holds a graduate certificate in dispute resolution from Marquette University, which she earned in 2003.[4]

Pamela Pepper received a nomination from President Barack Obama to serve on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin on May 1, 2014.[1] Pepper was nominated to fill a vacancy created by Charles Clevert when he took senior status in 2012.[5]

The American Bar Association rated Pepper Unanimously Well Qualified for the position.[7]
The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing for Pepper on June 24, 2014.[8] The committee reported Pepper to the full Senate on July 17, 2014, on a voice vote.[9]
The Senate confirmed Pepper on November 20, 2014, on a vote of 95-0.[10]
Pepper became chief judge of the court in 2019.
