U.S. municipal elections, 2017

The city of Boise, Idaho, held elections for city council on November 7, 2017. Three of the six seats on the city council were up for election and only one incumbent filed for re-election.[1][2]

The Seat 4 incumbent, TJ Thomson, was re-elected to a third term after facing three challengers. Incumbents Ben Quintana and Maryanne Jordan did not file for re-election, and those open races attracted five and four candidates, respectively. Lisa Sanchez was elected to Seat 2, and Holli Woodings was elected to Seat 6.[3]

There was also tax levy on the ballot for open space and water quality projects in the city. Voters passed this levy for $10 million over two years in 2015, but the city mistakenly did not collect the money. The 2017 ballot question asked voters for approval to revise the assessment period for the levy. The levy passed with 83 percent of the vote.

The Greater Boise Auditorium District (GBAD) held nonpartisan elections for two of five members of its board of directors on May 16, 2017. Incumbent Hy Kloc and challenger Kristin Muchow defeated incumbent Judy M. Peavey-Derr and challenger Scott Mecham.[4]
