Monica Drinane is a former supervising judge of the Bronx County Family Court in New York. She was appointed to this position in August of 2009. She joined the Bronx Family Court in 2004, when she was appointed an interim judge. She was appointed in 2008 to a full term.[1][2] Drinane retired in 2014.[3]

Education

Drinane received her undergraduate degree from St. John's University, her master's degree from Fordham University and her J.D. from the New York University School of Law.[1]

Career

Prior to becoming a judge, Drinane worked from 1998 to 2004 for the Legal Aid Society. There she became attorney-in-charge of the Juvenile Rights Division. She was appointed an interim judge of the New York City Civil Court in 2004 and was appointed an interim judge of the Bronx County Family Court in 2005. She served briefly as a judge of the Civil Court in 2007 before being appointed to a full term on the family court. She was appointed supervising judge of the family court in 2009.[1]
