|Michael Lee Steadham was born on November 1, 1953 in Sutton, WV. He was raised by his coal miner, Baptist minister grandfather and grandmother in Morris, WV (between Birch River and Dille). He is a lifelong Nicholas County resident with a 30 year career as a commercial real estate developer and business owner. Mr. Steadham began his initial career path as a senior in high school at the Kroger in Summersville. After graduating from high school, Mr. Steadham attended Concord University. Prior to retiring from Kroger after a 20 year career he began his first business, Super Service Food Stores, Inc. Over the next 30 years, he owned and operated many additional businesses in West Virginia, including Sleep Inn, Damon’s Restaurant, Citgo, Exxon, Chevron, Plateau Outdoor Advertising, Image Outdoor Advertising and Image Outdoor Advertising II.
Mr. Steadham is committed to public service and has been on the Summersville City Council for 19 years and has served on the Board of Directors for the Four County Economic Development Authority as Vice President and Chair of Finance; the Summersville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Summersville Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees and the Summersville Forestry Council.
Mr. Steadham is a member of the Summersville Baptist Church. He and his wife, Sheila a Registered Nurse, live in Summersville where he actively supports myriad civic organizations and enjoys spending time hunting, boating, reading and traveling.

I worked in Kroger Grocery for 20 years
World War II books/shows. My father is on the Navy most of his life. I don't know if there's a significance, but I was fascinated with historical events related to war. My salute to all armed men out there for all of their sacrifices.
I was raised wonderfully by my grandparents, but I still wonder how it is to be raised by biological parents.
Maintaining legislative relations between the governor and state legislature is important to accomplish their policy objectives and plans for the state. It needs members who care about its well-being and that who engage in institution-building activities.
As we all know because of the pandemic, our state still facing low labor force. Better infrastructure is needed so we can start attracting businesses to come to West Virginia.
Yes. Experienced legislators knew more what their district needs and already develop a trusting relationship among their constituents/colleagues with their judgement and that will make it easier to pass a bill.
I believe compromise is necessary for policy making. Every person often has different views/opinions on issues and to compromise is to be able to come up to a certain level of agreement often involving variations from an original goal.
