An effort to recall Michael Hancock from his position as the Mayor of Denver, Colorado was launched in late 2011. The effort did not result in a recall election. The reason for the recall, according to reports, was due to Occupy Denver protests allegedly being disrupted by city police, as well as decisions to ban tents at those demonstrations, leaving protesters cold. According to Occupy Denver, protesters unhappy with the way the protests were being disrupted by the city turned their focus to Mayor Hancock.[1]
