Mary Catherine Cuff was a New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division judge. She joined the Appellate Division on September 1,1994, and became the presiding judge of Part B on September 1, 2005. She retired in October 2016.[1]
Cuff was temporarily assigned to the New Jersey Supreme Court. Her assignment began in October 2012 and ended in 2016 with the appointment of Justice Walter F. Timpone.[2]
Education
Cuff earned her bachelor's degree from Rosemont College and received her juris doctor from Rutgers School of Law-Newark in 1973.[1][3]
Career
Before her judicial appointment, Cuff served as a deputy attorney general, special assistant to the state treasurer, assistant U.S. attorney, and chief of the Civil Division. She also practiced with the law firm of Waters, McPherson, McNeill in Secaucus. Cuff was appointed to the Superior Court on February 5, 1988.[1] She was nominated for tenure by Gov. Christine Todd Whitman and sworn in on February 5, 1995.[3]
