Noteworthy events
Arrest on traffic violations (2023)
On May 1, 2023, Bosley was pulled over for speeding and subsequently arrested due to an outstanding warrant for her failure to appear in court for a previous traffic violation. In total, there were three warrants for traffic violations dating back to 2016 across different counties. Bosley was released later the same day after she posted bail.[1][2]
In response to the arrest, Bosley stated, "I’ve been so focused in trying to do a lot of good work in the Capitol [and] making sure that I do the people’s work for the 79th District, I’ve neglected my own personal endeavors. I’m truly sorry for that, because you can’t be a good representative if you personally aren’t taking care of your business. So I take full responsibility for that." Bosley also stated she was taking action to ensure that "all matters related to this situation are settled to the satisfaction of the relevant legal authorities."[1][2]
Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
