Kari Anne Dooley is a judge on the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. She joined the court in September 2018. President Donald Trump (R) nominated her to this seat December 20, 2017.[1][2]

Dooley was previously a judge on the Waterbury District Superior Court in Connecticut from 2004 to 2018.[3] She was nominated by Governor Mary Jodi Rell.[4]

Education

Dooley received her undergraduate degree in 1985 from Cornell University. She earned a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1988.[5]

President Trump nominated Dooley to the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut December 28, 2017, to serve as an Article III federal judge. The American Bar Association rated her nominated unanimously well qualified. The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing on her nomination March 7, 2018. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) reported her nomination April 19. The U.S. Senate confirmed Dooley on September 6 by voice vote.[6][7] She received commission September 13.[2]
