Karen L. Stevenson is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She began her service on the court on August 10, 2015, and her current term expired on August 9, 2023.

Education

Judge Stevenson earned her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her master's in European history from Magdalen College of Oxford University as a Rhodes scholar, and her J.D., with distinction, from Stanford Law School.

Career

Prior to her service as a magistrate judge, Stevenson was of counsel with Buchalter Nemer, "where she concentrated her practice on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on securities litigation and defense of financial services institutions."
