Karen Hurd (Republican Party) is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing District 68. She assumed office on January 3, 2023. Her current term ends on January 6, 2025.

Hurd (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Wisconsin State Assembly to represent District 69. She won in the general election on November 5, 2024.

Biography

Karen Hurd was born in Houston, Texas, and lives in Fall Creek, Wisconsin. Hurd graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1976. She served in the U.S. Army from 1980 to 1984. Hurd earned a B.A., summa cum laude, in languages from Truman State University in 1980. She later obtained a degree in comprehensive nutrition from the American Academy of Nutrition (now called Huntington College of Health Sciences) and an M.S. in biochemistry from the University of Saint Joseph in 2017. Her career experience includes working in nutrition counseling and doing speaking engagements, creating nutritional and biochemical eCourses, and writing about those topics.[1][2]

I am a Village of Fall Creek Trustee and a small business owner. I hold a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry. I have been practicing nutrition for 28 years. I am currently earning a Master of Public Health degree. I am actively involved in the community life of Fall Creek. I am a veteran, writer, Fall Creek Valley Housing director, and substitute teacher for the Fall Creek School System. I am married to my husband Steven for 44 years. I have five grown children and four grandchildren. I have been a resident of Fall Creek, WI for 25 years.
