James P. Salmon was a judge on the Maryland Court of Special Appeals, the intermediate appellate court for the state of Maryland. He took office on December 14, 1994 and he represents the 4th Appellate Circuit.[1] He was retained by voters in 1996[2] and 2006.[3] Salmon retired from the court in 2010.[4]
Education
Judge Salmon on February 9, 1940 in Easton, Maryland. He graduated from St. Vincent College in 1962 with a B.S. in Economics. He went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1965.[1]
Career
Judge Salmon began his legal career in 1965 as a law clerk to Judge Charles C. Marbury of the Court of Appeals. In 1966, he became and associate of the law firm Duckett, Orem, Christie & Beckett. He moved to the firm Sasscer, Clagett, Channing and Bucher in 1969, where he was a partner from 1970 to 1988. He then became and Associate Judge on Prince George's County Circuit Court, 7th Judicial Circuit. He held this position until he was appointed to the Court of Appeals.[1]
