James Howard Jarvis II(1937-2007) was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.

Jarvis was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on September 6, 1984, to a new seat created by 98 Stat. 333; he was confirmed by the Senate on October 11, 1984, and received commission the next day. From 1991-1998, he served as the chief judge. He assumed senior status on February 28, 2002. He served the Eastern District of Tennessee until his death on June 6, 2007.[1]
