James Houston was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. He was nominated by President Thomas Jefferson on April 19, 1806. He was confirmed by the Senate on April 21, 1806, and received commission that same day. He served until his death on June 8, 1819.[1] Houston was succeeded in this position by Theodorick Bland.
