James Francis Smith (1859-1928) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Customs Appeals, which later became the United States Court of Customs and Patent Appeals.

Federal judicial service

Smith was nominated to the Court of Customs Appeals by President William Howard Taft. He was confirmed on March 30, 1910, and served until his death on June 29, 1928.
