James V. Allred (1899-1959) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
He was nominated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on January 5, 1939 to a seat created by 52 Stat. 584, 585. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 16th, and received commission on February 23rd. He resigned on May 15, 1942, but was nominated again by President Harry Truman on September 23, 1949. He was nominated to the seat created by 63 Stat. 493. On October 12th, he was confirmed and received commission on October 13th. He served on this court until his death on September 24, 1959.[1] Allred was succeeded in this position by Reynaldo Garza.
