Henry Brockholst Livingston was an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. He joined the court in 1807 following a nomination from President Thomas Jefferson. He served until his death on March 18, 1823. Prior to joining the court, Livingston was an associate justice for the Supreme Court of Judicature of New York.[1]
Livingston was one of three justices nominated to the Supreme Court by President Jefferson. Livingston served during The Marshall Court.[2]
Education
Livingston received his undergraduate degree from the College of New Jersey in 1774. He received his legal training by reading law.[1]

Judicial nominations and appointments
Supreme Court of the United States
Livingston was nominated by President Thomas Jefferson on December 15, 1806. He was confirmed by the Senate on December 17, 1806, and received commission on January 16, 1807. He served until his death on March 18, 1823.[1] He was succeeded to this post by Justice Smith Thompson.
