Gerald Baca (Democratic Party) is a judge of the New Mexico Court of Appeals. He assumed office on April 26, 2021. His current term ends on December 31, 2030.
Baca (Democratic Party) ran in a special election for judge of the New Mexico Court of Appeals. He won in the special general election on November 8, 2022.
Before ascending to the court of appeals, Baca was a district court judge in the Fourth Judicial District of New Mexico. He served on the court from May 2013 to April 2021.[1]

Primary: He was successful in the Democratic primary on June 3, 2014, receiving 55.3 percent of the vote. He competed against Suzanne Gaulin and Anna M. Aragon.

Baca received his undergraduate degree from the New Mexico Highlands University and his J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law.[1]
Career
Prior to his elevation to the bench, Baca was in private practice at the Law Offices of Gerald E. Baca. He also previously worked as a judge for the Fourth Judicial District and an assistant district attorney for the Fourth and First Judicial District Attorney’s offices.[1]
