Gayle Harrell (Republican Party) is a member of the Florida State Senate, representing District 31. She assumed office on November 8, 2022. Her current term ends on November 7, 2028.
Harrell (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Florida State Senate to represent District 31. She won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Gayle Harrell was born in Nashville, Tennessee. Harrell earned a B.A. in Spanish and an M.A. in Latin American studies and history from the University of Florida in 1964 and 1977, respectively. Her career experience includes working as the CEO of Health IT Strategies and a health information technology consultant. Harrell served as the chair of the Hibiscus Children's Center and Helping People Succeed.[1]

The vacancy was created when Joe Negron (R) announced in May 2018 that he would resign.
Robert Levy and Gayle Harrell faced off in the special election. Levy was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Gayle Harrell defeated Belinda Keiser in the Republican primary.[4]
