Gary Larson
Gary Larson is a former Minnesota Fourth Judicial District judge for Hennepin County, Minnesota. He was appointed to this position in 1985 and was elected to full terms in 1986, 1992, 1998 and 2004. He has been assigned to the Criminal and Civil divisions. He retired in June of 2011.[1]
Education
Larson received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Minnesota in 1964 and 1967, respectively.[2]
Career
Larson began his legal career in 1967 as a judicial clerk for District Judge John Cahill. The following year, he joined the law firm of Kelly & Larson, where he practiced law until 1977. During this time, he became a Tonka Bay City Attorney. He worked in this position from 1972 to 1985. He worked for the firm of Penberthy & Larson, Ltd. from 1977 to 1983. From 1979 to 1981, he was also an Excelsior City Attorney and, from 1978 to 1985, an attorney for Laketown. He then practiced law under the title Gary Larson, Ltd. from 1983 to 1985 and was a City Attorney of Shorewood from 1981 until his judicial appointment in 1985.
2010 election
Larson was re-elected after running unopposed.[3]
