Elijah Paine (1757 - 1842) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of Vermont. He was nominated by President John Adams on February 24, 1801. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 25, 1801, and received commission on March 3, 1801.[1] He resigned on April 1, 1842. Paine was succeeded in this position by Samuel Prentiss. Paine died on April 28th, 1842.
