Edward Johnson was a judge on the Georgia Court of Appeals. He was sworn in on February 28, 1992.[1] He was retained by voters in 1992, 1998[2] and 2004. His term ended on December 31, 2010.[3]

Education

Edward Johnson was born in Newnan, Georgia. He graduated from Georgia State University, first with a bachelor's degree, then a master's degree in history. He went on to receive his law degree (J.D.) from Vanderbilt University School of Law and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. From 1977 to 1980, he was a State Senator of the 34th district. He is married and has two sons.[1]

Career

Prior to his appointment to the Court of Appeal, Judge Johnson served on the Superior Court of the Atlanta Judicial Circuit and the State Court of Fulton County. He has also been an adjunct professor of law at Emory University School of Law, an adjunct professor of law at Mercer University School of Law, an instructor for the Institute of Continuing Judicial Education, and faculty member of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.[1]
