Primary: She was successful in the Democratic primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 52.0 percent of the vote. She competed against H. Paul Canales.
General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 46.0 percent of the vote. She competed against Renee McElhaney.

Education
Elizondo received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, and a J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law.[4]
Career
Elizondo joined The Carlson Law Firm, PC in 2000, and has assisted in opening several new offices. She began her career in law as an associate at the Law Offices of Ed. L. Laughlin.[4]
