Vincent Davis (b. June 28, 1963) is a judge for the 17th Chancery District (Seat 1) in Mississippi.[1] He was appointed by Governor Haley Barbour on December 7, 2009.[2][3]

At the time of his judicial appointment, Davis was serving as a Democratic member of the Mississippi State Senate, representing the 36th District.

Education

Davis earned a B.S. degree from Alcorn State University in 1985, going on to receive his J.D. from the Mississippi College School of Law in 1989.[2]

Career

For one year prior to his judicial appointment in 2009, Davis served as senator for District 36 of the Mississippi State Senate. He has practiced law since 1989, gaining experience as an assistant district attorney (6th Circuit Court District) and a city attorney (City of Fayette). Davis was a candidate for the Mississippi State Senate in 2003 but was not elected. He did join the Mississippi State Senate in 2008. He served in that position, representing the 36th District, until his appointment to a chancery judge post.[2]
