Denise McKelvie Gonyea was a magistrate judge of the Eighth District serving Poweshiek County, Iowa. She was appointed to this position in 2009.

Magistrate Gonyea states her judicial philosophy as follows:

"It is my duty to serve the public by conducting Magistrate Court in an impartial, civil, and efficient manner."

Gonyea received her undergraduate degree in 1995 and her J.D. in 1999, both from Arizona State University.
