Delman Coates was a Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Maryland in the 2014 elections.[1][2] He intended to share the ticket with Democratic gubernatorial candidate and state Del. Heather Mizeur. Mizeur lost the primary election on June 24, 2014. The general election took place on November 4, 2014.
Coates works as a pastor at a church in Prince George's County.[2]

Coates ran for election to the office of Lieutenant Governor of Maryland. The seat was open in 2014 because incumbent Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown (D) had decided to run for governor.[1][2]
The general election took place on November 4, 2014. In Maryland, the governor and lieutenant governor are elected on the same ticket. Coates' gubernatorial running mate was state Del. Heather Mizeur.
