Three seats on the DeKalb County School District school board in Georgia were up for general election on May 22, 2018. Georgia held runoff elections on July 24, 2018, for school board races across the state where no candidate received a majority of the vote in the general election.

In District 2, incumbent Marshall Orson defeated challenger Candice Mckinley. The races for Districts 4 and 6 were both open races. Allyson Gevertz filed to run for District 4 and was elected without opposition. Diijon Dacosta won the District 6 seat against Lance Hammonds.[2][3]

The DeKalb County School District is located in Georgia. The district was the third-largest school district in the state in the 2014–2015 school year and served 101,103 students.[4]

Clinton won 14 districts controlled by Republicans heading into the 2018 elections.
In 2012, Mitt Romney (R) won 116 out of 180 state House districts in Georgia with an average margin of victory of 36.6 points. In 2016, Donald Trump (R) won 106 out of 180 state House districts in Georgia with an average margin of victory of 36.8 points. Trump won four districts controlled by Democrats heading into the 2018 elections.
