Charles Joseph Vogel (1898-1980) was a federal judge for the Eighth Circuit and for the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota. Vogel died on September 8th, 1980.

District of North Dakota

Franklin D. Roosevelt nominated Vogel to the District of North Dakota on July 15, 1941, to the seat vacated by Andrew Miller. Vogel was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on October 27, 1941, receiving commission on October 30, 1941. He served as this court's chief judge from 1954-1954, with his service ending on August 20, 1954 when he moved to the Eighth Circuit. Vogel was su

Eighth Circuit

Dwight D. Eisenhower nominated Vogel to the Eighth Circuit on August 16, 1954, to the seat vacated by Walter Garrett Riddick. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on August 18, 1954, receiving commission on August 20, 1954. Vogel served as Chief Judge of the 8th Circuit from 1965-1968. He assumed senior status on February 20, 1968 with his serving on the court terminating on September 8, 1980 due to his death.[1]
