C.C. Bridgwater was the presiding chief judge of the Washington Court of Appeals and a member of District II. He was appointed to this court in November of 1994 and was retained by voters in 1995, 1998 and 2004.[1][2] Bridgewater retired from the court when his term expired in 2010.[3] He died on July 20, 2014, at the age of 70.[4]
Education
Judge Bridgewater received his B.A. degree in philosophy from Stanford University in 1966 and a law degree from the University from Texas at Austin in 1969.[2]
Career
Judge Bridgewater began his legal career doing consumer protection work with the Federal Trade Commission. After three years, he moved to Cowlitz County and worked there as a deputy prosecuting attorney for two years before entering the private practice of law. He focused on criminal defense, domestic relations and healthcare law in his practice. Bridgewater was elected prosecuting attorney of Cowlitz County in 1986 and he worked in this position until his appointment to the court of appeals in 1994.[2]
