Between fiscal years 2015 and 2016, total state spending (including both state and federal funds and excluding bonds) was estimated to have increased by 3.99 percent, from $1.85 trillion (including both state and federal funds) in fiscal year 2015 to an estimated $1.93 trillion in fiscal year 2016.[1]
