Biography
Bill Hirt graduated from Armstrong Iowa High School. Hirt earned a B.S. and M.S. in aerospace engineering from Iowa State University in 1961 and 1962, respectively. His career experience includes working as an engineer with Boeing.[1]

He was defeated by incumbent Governor Jay Inslee (D), who placed first in the primary election, and Seattle Port Commissioner Bill Bryant (R), who placed second.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was May 17, 2014. Incumbent Ross Hunter (D) and Bill Hirt (R) were unopposed in the primary.
