Aylin Acikalin Maklansky was a Democratic candidate for District A representative on the New Orleans City Council in Louisiana. Maklansky was defeated in the primary election on October 14, 2017.

Biography

Maklansky earned her B.A. in international affairs from George Washington University. She later received her J.D. from Tulane University Law School. Maklansky served as a legislative aide to U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu (D) and an attorney in private practice. She was the legislative director for Councilwoman Nadine Ramsey (D) from 2014 to 2017.[1]
