|I am a local Brevard realtor, a product of the foster care system, and a father to five amazing children, and I am running to be your next State Representative so that we can bring Brevard values back to the State House.
- Affordable Housing and Economic Opportunity - District 33 cannot be a place where people work full time and still cannot afford to put a roof over their heads. We must deliver urgent solutions to ensure our community members are able to access basic human needs. Housing is a human right.
- Health Rights - I will defend Floridians’ rights to access all healthcare services, including abortion, and I firmly believe that your health decisions are sacred and private.
- Educational Equity - As a father of 5, I know the impact of a quality education and I know that there is no better path to a brighter future for our district than investing in our schools, students, and educators.
Education, woman’s rights, equity, fair and affordable housing
My foster dad. He’s kind, unwavering in his support of myself and my family
I recommend keeping an open mind, understanding that no relationship is unlimited and that it’s important to meet others where they are at in order to gain the right balance of perspective.
When considering the characteristics or principles most important for an elected official, the following stand out:
- Integrity: An elected official must be honest, transparent, and ethical in all dealings. Integrity fosters trust and ensures that the official acts in the best interest of the public, not for personal gain or special interests.
- Accountability: Holding oneself accountable means being responsible for actions and decisions, admitting mistakes, and being willing to correct them. An accountable official listens to constituents and provides clear, truthful explanations for their actions.
- Commitment to Public Service: A strong dedication to serving the community is essential. This includes understanding the needs of all constituents, working tirelessly to meet those needs, and making decisions that enhance the community's well-being.
- Empathy: Understanding and sharing the feelings of others allows an official to represent diverse perspectives and make decisions that are fair and just. Empathy is key to creating policies that address the real challenges people face.
- Vision: A clear vision for the future and the ability to inspire others toward that vision is crucial. An elected official should have long-term goals that are achievable and beneficial for the community, and they should be able to communicate this vision effectively.
- Courage: It takes courage to make difficult decisions, especially when they may be unpopular but necessary. An elected official must be willing to stand up for what is right, even in the face of adversity.
- Collaboration: Working well with others, including those with differing views, is vital for progress. An effective official knows how to build coalitions, compromise when needed, and unite people towards common goals.
These principles ensure that an elected official not only serves with distinction but also genuinely improves the lives of those they represent.
I bring integrity, a deep commitment to public service, and a strong work ethic to the table. My ability to listen, understand diverse perspectives, and collaborate effectively ensures that I can represent and serve our community well. I’m dedicated to transparency and accountability, and I have the vision and determination to drive meaningful change for our district.
The core responsibilities for someone elected to this office include representing the needs and interests of all constituents, ensuring transparency and accountability in decision-making, and advocating for policies that promote the well-being and growth of our community. It's essential to listen to the concerns of the people, address challenges with practical solutions, and work collaboratively to create a more prosperous and equitable future for everyone in the district.
One that my children will be proud of
9/11. I was sitting in class. I think 14 years old
I watered plants for my foster dad’s office. I only held that job for 2 days because I tried to charge him $10 per plant. 🙃
Harry Potter - lots of wands and brooms
Some stupid TikTok dance song that I cannot remember the name of.
Understanding that I cannot help everyone.
The ideal relationship between the governor and the state legislature should be one of collaboration and mutual respect, where both branches work together to serve the best interests of the people. While each has distinct roles and responsibilities, they must engage in open dialogue, compromise when necessary, and prioritize the common good over partisan politics. A productive partnership between the governor and the legislature is key to enacting effective policies that address the needs of all citizens.
Bridging the divide between our country and what politics is supposed to be for our communities. We have gotten to the point where politics have become volatile and politically eroding. We need to gain new perspectives and get younger people engaged in the system so that we can get back to solving the issues that exist for everyone
I don’t think that it should be a requirement. I think what we need are every day people who care to learn and understand the needs of those within our communities. We need less politicians.
Absolutely important to be able to achieve results. It’s about working together regardless of party and politics. We may represent a small portion of people but our work will be far reaching.
I want to model myself
I don’t believe so
I mostly hear how the state of Florida and the governor has left too many people behind with respects to dealing with the insurance crisis, as well as housing affordability. This hurts my heart and drives me to to be the change we need
See above 👆
I think having an oversight committee is key to decision making and in some circumstances there should be powers granted. I would want to look more into the details of such freedoms or restrictions
Codify woman’s rights
City Council members - Donny Felix, Kenny Johnson, Dan McDow, Levander Hearn.
Education, housing, health and more I’m sure! 😊
I strongly believe that financial transparency and government accountability are fundamental to a healthy democracy, and unfortunately, our local leadership has fallen short in these areas. When government actions and financial decisions are hidden from public scrutiny, it erodes trust and invites corruption. We need to implement stricter oversight, ensure that budgets and spending are fully transparent, and hold our leaders accountable for their decisions. It's time to rebuild trust by making sure that every dollar spent is done so openly and with the community's best interest in mind.
I support ballot initiatives to legalize marijuana and protect woman’s right to access healthcare
