On April 23, 2010, Judge Montgomery approved the sale of Petters' former seven-bedroom home on Lake Minnetonka for $5 million. The proceeds of the sale were intended to pay off the mortgages associated with the property and pay damages to people that lost money in the Ponzi Scheme.[4][5]
