André Birotte, Jr. is a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Prior to joining the court, he was the Assistant United States Attorney for the Central District of California. President Barack Obama nominated Birotte to the United States District Court for the Central District of California on April 3, 2014.[1] The United States Senate confirmed Birotte on July 22, 2014, on a vote of 100-0.[2]

Birotte earned his B.S. from Tufts University graduating in 1987 and earned his J.D. from Pepperdine University Law School in 1991.[1]

André Birotte, Jr. was nominated on April 3, 2014, by President Barack Obama to fill a vacancy on the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Birotte was nominated to fill a vacancy created by Gary Feess, who took senior status on March 13, 2014. President Obama on the nomination:

The American Bar Association rated Birotte Unanimously Well Qualified.[5]
Birotte had a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on May 20, 2014, a recording of the hearing can be seen here.[6] The Senate Judiciary Committee reported Birotte to the full Senate on June 19, 2014, on a voice vote.[7] The Senate unanimously confirmed Birotte on July 22, 2014.[2]
