The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was May 30, 2014. Andrea Clifford defeated Wilfred Ferris, III in the Democratic primary, while Jim Allen defeated Daniel Cardenas in the Republican primary. Allen defeated Clifford in the general election.[1][2]
