|My name is Alec Stevens and I am a born again Christian. I am a devoted husband and a proud father. I am an American and believe that young people need to get involved with our country and am doing my best to lead by example. I believe that Jesus Christ lived, died, and rose again on the third day to save you and me from our sins if we ask Him to and believe.
- I believe that the LORD God is judging America. He is judging us for turning our faces away from Him while worshipping the lusts of our flesh. We need to turn back to God for He is the only one who can save and repair our nation.
- Abortion is murder and the LORD God is judging us for the murder of millions of babies. Abortion should be banned except for the most dire of circumstances. This will show the LORD that we have repented of this wicked sin.
- Our families are broken, our marriages are weak, and our children are being raised by the school system instead of their parents. Marriage is a God made union. God intended Jesus to be the head of the family and the husband is supposed to subject himself to Jesus’ will. The wife is supposed to subject herself to the husband. The children are supposed to be subject to the parents. That is a value we, as a nation have forgotten.
We need to stop the LGBTQ education in our public schools. Our children are being taken advantage of by our education system. Our children should be taught reading, writing, arithmetic, and how to think. Instead they are being constantly taught that gender is fluid and the myriad of pronouns one could claim to have. They are taught about sexual relationships that shouldn’t be taught to children. The education system is failing our children and therefore failing our country.
I look up to Jesus Christ. He is the only one who won’t let me down. Another person whom I admire and respect is my Pastor Rex Carringer. He is a faithful, hardworking, devoted man. He is an example of how God can and will bless you if you give your life to His will at a young age. Lastly I admire David Goggins. He is a man who took a hard look at his life and decided to change it. He has served this nation and inspired me through some difficult times.
To those who want to understand my political philosophy, you should read the books of Daniel and Genesis (KJV). Daniel served in wicked Nebuchadnezzar’s court and Joesph in Pharaoh’s. They are men who received God’s blessings in dark times. We live in dark, uncertain times and need godly people to lead our nation once again.
Elected officials need to remember that they are stewards and are beholden to their constituents. Elected officials need to treat other elected officials with respect, for they are the representatives of the people. In our American politics we adopted a policy of hate. We seemingly hate those whom we disagree with and do everything we can to tarnish reputations so that “our side” wins. Our politics have become more about sport than doing what is best for the American people.
I believe that my boldness, faith, compassion, and uncanny ability to make friends would make me a successful officeholder.
The core responsibility for someone elected to congress is to be the voice of their district. A congressman is to be a representative of the voters. They are supposed to put constituents first, and themselves last. We have had too many congressmen enrich themselves at the cost of their constituents and the nation. We need congressmen who will make tough decisions and have a true servant mindset.
I would like my legacy to be that God decided to bless America once again while I was in office.
The first historical event I could remember was September 11, 2001. I was in my second grade classroom and I remember going home early. My mother told me about what had happened and I have had a deep respect for first responders ever since. I was seven years old at the time.
My first job was umpiring at my local little league. I held that job for a few years. I lived across the street from the field and when my coworkers didn’t show up they would come knock on my door to have me cover their shift. I made quite a bit of money as a teenager.
The Bible is my favorite book because it is how I learn about my LORD.
Other influential books have been The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien, The Dark Tower series by Stephen King, The Redwall series by Brian Jacques, The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini, the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling, to name a few other series.
I would be Gandalf because he is powerful enough to be left alone yet wise, brave, and dedicated enough to help his fellow man though dark and dangerous times.
Away in a Manger- James R Murray. I’m teaching myself how to play the violin and this is the song I’ve been practicing.
I have had many struggles in my life. I grew up in a broken home and used marijuana and alcohol as crutches. I struggled with cleaning up my life until I decided to give my life to Jesus five years ago. Once I did that Jesus has removed the abuse of those substances from my life and given me so much more.
The U.S. House of Representatives is unique because it is one half of one third of our government. I also think that the frequency of elections makes it unique because of the potential for high turnover. I think that the idea that the House is supposed to churn out a lot of ideas while only the best make it to the senate is unique and supposed to make change slow. Ever since we changed the rules so that 51% of the House was needed to pass a law our country has been making worse decisions and party lines are more important rather than working together.
I believe that having previous experience in politics is a double edged sword. On one hand you’re supposedly familiar with government and its workings. On the other hand you could be bought and paid for by PAC, donor, or party. I believe that if someone stakes their name, money, time, and prayers on attempting to become a representative they should be considered because they are doing it out of a desire to better the nation and not using it as a political stepping stone.
Our nation’s greatest challenges are our carelessness towards the LORD God, our lack of national identity, our national debt, lack of skilled tradespeople, addiction, lack of manufacturing and blue collar jobs, our poisoned food, lack of local farms, China, motivating people to take accountability for themselves and their country, immigration, to name a few.
I’m honestly not too sure. I think three years might be more ideal but I am going to trust the wisdom of our founders until I have first hand experience.
We have term limits in the form of elections. The problem is that we have millions of uninformed voters who think it’s cool to not care about politics. We need to have educated voters and to have more American patriots who care about this nation to get involved in the political process.
I want to model myself after my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I strive to be like Him and I am running because I surrendered my life to His will.
My friend and neighbor is a Vietnam War veteran and needed a lot of mental, and physical help when I first entered my candidacy. His relationship with his children has been strained and they have not been willing to help. I took it upon myself to help him because I knew that it was the right thing to do. I learned so much about his sacrifice for our nation, getting shot in the head and leg, agent orange in his eyes, the seizures he’s had ever since and it changed me. This was a true American hero who was forsaken by his family, and community. The worst part is that he isn’t the only hero that is going through a similar situation. We need to be better neighbors and have a far greater respect for our veterans.
I’d tell you a vegetable joke, but it’s too corny.
We should be compromising! I feel like we don’t work across party lines like we should. We should strive to work together to restore American values and to better our beautiful nation.
If it came down to it I would use that power to pass a law that would focus on single item bills. We have had too many 1000 plus page bills get passed. We need to pass bills that are easy to understand.
The U.S. House should investigate the Biden family, and the alphabet agencies. Our government feels rotten to the core and we need to prune away what is killing our nation.
I am interested in serving where I am needed most. I would let my LORD God and the leaders of congress make those decisions. I am here to serve, not do what is best for me.
I believe that congress controls the purse and they should know where every red cent goes. They should be able provide reports to constituents at a moments notice, for the money spent is that of the tax payers. We should look at all government agencies and audit them to make sure that the money is going where it is supposed to go. Our national debt is out of control and needs to be addressed. If, after an audit, it is found that government agencies aren’t doing what they should, those agencies should be shut down and have their budget used to pay down the national debt. If they aren’t doing what they are supposed to be doing, then they are a leech on our government and should be excised.
