As a first generation college graduate, Dr. Quiñones-Aristone knew first-hand the importance a network of caring teachers and administration can have in a student's educational journey. From 2005-2017, Dr. Q. served her community as an elementary, middle, and high school Art teacher in Orange County and Palm Beach County School District. - Partnering with Parents: It's time to partner and rebuild a positive and transparent educational environment- one that supports and includes parental rights and valuing community input. You know your child and student best! There's no substitute for the parental voice. Let's work together!
- Quality Education for All Students: Our students with exceptionalities and the community deserve quality programs that serve their educational needs here in SCPS. Evaluating the Exceptional Student Education program exposes gaps and deficiencies. Increasing teacher resources in the classrooms and school campuses provides much needed supports.
- Value Our Teachers and Staff: Teachers are the backbone of our education system. I believe in increased pay, incentives, and a culture of open communication where teachers are valued. Lets make SCPS the top district for recruiting new high quality teachers and be a place where veteran teachers, support staff want to stay.
As a mother of two children I am passionate about creating a quality education system that creates and maintains high standards and provides our students with skills, knowledge, and training, that will help them become successful members of the community.
Students with exceptionalities should be provided with opportunities for skill training and certifications in vocational programs that go beyond the the experiences they currently have in public education. As a school district it is essential that we create a framework for all students to succeed; whether that be through higher education, vocational trainings, enlistment, or skill set certifications. SCPS has the opportunity to create and model a system that goes beyond the traditional structures offered upon graduation.
